This device is mounted on the outside of your residence and is used to relay the wireless signal between your residence and the tower site. We have a variety of different CPE’s that we use depending on the location. The CPE shown measures 14in height x 9in width and contains a wireless radio with an integrated panel antenna.
This is the most common type of installation. The radio is mounted at the peak of the roof, generally towards the backside of your residence. By mounting the radio higher, we are able to obtain a better signal and provide a better service to you. If your residence is close to the tower or sits up on a hill, we may be able to mount the radio under the eave of the roof.
CAT5e Ethernet cable is run from the radio into your residence. The installed cable is typically black. The ethernet cable is double jacketed, shielded cable, protecting it from all outdoor elements. Our certifited technicians will do everything to route the cable in a unobtrusive way. The radios are powered via POE (power over Ethernet). This means that a single Ethernet cable carries both your data and power to the radio.
Digital ATA (Analog Telephone Adapter)
If you subscribe to our Digital home phone service, an ATA (Analog Telephone Adapter) will be installed at your residence. The ATA plugs directly into your existing home wiring converting the analog phone signal to a digital stream to be transmitted over the Mercury Wireless Network. Combine our advanced features with your existing home phones for ease of use.
